Course assignments
Literature study: Read the article by De Jong et al (see the references below) and argue the relevance and implications of the term paludifuture.
Literature study: Develop a series of major descriptors for a paludiculture business model.
Farm visit: to the North-East of the university, you can visit farmer Jean at his farm Sphagnum & Typha in Peatland to gain more precise insights in the used business models regarding the use of paludicrops.
Essay: write an essay of 3000 words describing the current situation of the farm Sphagnum & Typha and develop three scenarios for the ‘paludifuture’ of the farm. The essay clearly indicates evidence of combining outcomes of the literature study and the farm visit.
