Learning outcomes

On completion of the course students will:

  • Have an understanding of the anatomy and ecosystem services of intact peatlands;
  • Be able to describe the ecological, economic and social importance of peatlands;
  • Be able to describe the ecological, economical and social effects of peatland degradation due to drainage to enhance modern agriculture.
